Welcome to the Brickworks Gallery Blog

Welcome to our new Brickworks Gallery blog! This two-part introduction will explain a little bit about Brickworks Gallery. We also have a few upcoming events you won’t want to miss if you love contemporary art and expression. If you live in Atlanta or plan on visiting, make sure you pay Brickworks Gallery a visit to see some of the amazing work on display.

Who We Are

Brickworks Gallery is located in the historic, 100-year-old B. Miffin Hood Brick Company Building, recently nominated by the State of Georgia to be placed on the National Register of Historic Places. The building is the perfect setting for our gallery, possessing an abundance of natural light that gives an airy and inspired setting for our displays.

The inherent character of the building creates a truly unique experience for our visitors, enhanced by the setting of the eclectic Virginia Highland neighborhood. We are located on the Atlanta Beltline, a five-minute walk from Ponce City Market to the south, and five minutes from Piedmont Park to the north.

Our Gallery

In 2016, Brickworks Gallery was named Best New Gallery by Atlanta Magazine.

Our gallery is home to the work of twenty-five artists, many of them local or regional talents. Several of our artists are both nationally and internationally renowned. Brickworks Gallery is dedicated to showcasing the work of talented and inspired artists whose work tells compelling stories. The artists come from all walks of life, but they have this trait in common: their work is a finely crafted expression of their lives and life experiences. They create storytelling art that is fun, compelling, and accessible.

Our work includes hand-blown glass, finely crafted salt-glazed ceramics, beautifully turned and carved wood works, landscape paintings in oil and acrylic, colorful pop-art inspired paintings, heavily layered paper collage paintings, and painterly ethereal photography.

Our Purpose

Founded by artist Laura W. Adams in 2016, Brickworks Gallery has brought a variety of colorful, expressive and evocative art to our visitors, creating an inclusive experience in a beautiful environment. The art is relatable, fun, engaging and accessible. Find out more about our exhibitions and our artists on our website.
